A Legacy of Care and Protection

Founded on the principle of protecting families, Nelson Elder Care Law has earned its reputation as a leader in estate planning and elder law. Their mission is simple yet profound: to safeguard families from life’s uncertainties through customized solutions, including estate planning, Medicaid crisis solutions, probate administration, guardianship, and conservatorship. By addressing these critical needs, the firm empowers clients with the assurance that their loved ones will remain protected.

However, the journey to success was not without its challenges. As a family-owned firm experiencing rapid growth, Nelson Elder Care Law’s leadership faced the pressing need to align its operational capabilities with its expanding client base. While the owners had the legal expertise, managing operations at scale was a new frontier. It was at this juncture that Kim Roberson stepped in, bringing a structured approach that preserved the firm’s family-focused culture while implementing policies and standards to streamline operations.

The firm’s long-standing success lies in its steadfast commitment to core values and team culture. By adopting the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) and investing in leadership development, Nelson Elder Care Law has fostered an environment where excellence thrives. This focus on internal alignment ensures that every client interaction reflects the company’s dedication to quality and care.

Tailored Solutions for Every Family

At the heart of Nelson Elder Care Law’s offerings is the Absolute Protection Trust™, a groundbreaking solution in estate planning. Unique to Georgia, this trust ensures that families can bypass the probate process, qualify for long-term care assistance, and retain the flexibility to adapt their plans as needed. This innovative approach positions the firm as a leader in asset protection within the state.

Every service the firm provides is tailored to meet the unique needs of its clients. Unlike conventional estate planning lawyers who rely on generic solutions, Nelson Elder Care Law’s approach is highly personalized. Guided by the core value of being “Client Committed,” the team treats every client as a member of their own family, ensuring that each solution is designed with care and precision.

Incorporating technology has further enhanced the firm’s ability to serve its clients. A recently implemented client communication tool allows clients to track case progress, upload essential documents, and maintain real-time communication with their dedicated paralegal. This innovation has significantly improved client satisfaction and strengthened the firm’s reputation, as reflected in their glowing Google reviews.

Furthermore, Kim Roberson’s leadership is focused on continuous improvement in areas that matter most to clients—faster communication, exceptional service, and comprehensive protection. This strategic vision ensures that Nelson Elder Care Law remains a trusted partner for families for generations to come.

Women’s Corner:

In an exclusive interview with Kim Roberson, we had the opportunity to ask her questions and understand her perspective and philosophy on women’s leadership, inclusion, and the secret recipe for her work-life balance.

As a woman leader, what has been the biggest challenge in your career? Have you ever confronted any gender-related barriers?

The biggest challenge for me has been overcoming my imposter syndrome and recognizing my strengths as a leader and woman in business. Surrounding myself with other strong women who build me up and encourage me has been key to growing that confidence.

How do you ensure women’s inclusion and empowerment in your organization?

If I am treating every employee as my internal client, then I am going to make sure that they have access to the tools that they need, that they have multiple ways to communicate with me, and that they have access to growth and development opportunities. I am committed to cultivating a culture where open communication is the norm.

What is your definition of feminism?

To me, feminism is being respected for courage and strength and striving to empower all women.

Whom do you look up to as a source of inspiration and why?

I really admire Sara Blakely for her commitment to excellence in business and her commitment to developing other female leaders within her own businesses and externally.

Beyond the cabin, how do you ensure a perfect work-life balance?

Finding the balance between work and personal life is never going to be perfect, but having the right Leadership Team in place really allowed me to have a new level of freedom in being able to say yes to more things in my personal life. My top priority is always going to be my son, and I protect my schedule so that I am able to be there for him over everything else.
