Tips for Making a Productive office Environment

3 Tips for Creating a Productive Office Environment | CIO Women Magazine

Your office says a lot about who you are as a company. Just like the shoes you are wearing, a potential client will instantly make a judgement as soon as they walk in. A good, well-designed office will create a more productive office environment for your staff members, whilst a cold and dark office will be unmotivational and affect their productivity.

So how do you make a productive office environment? The answer is, there are many ways. The wall decor plays a big role in how a room feels and so do the accessories you have within the room – such as plants and rugs. Then you have the facilities, do you have a break-out room, have nice tea and coffee and does everything work as it should – you may need to get commercial electrical contractors out to fix any wiring issues.

Three Strategies for a Productive Office Environment:

1. Wall decor

When you walk into your business office, what are your first thoughts on the wall decor? Is it painted plain and boring or have you got a nice design for it? If it’s plain, you’ve got plenty to work with. To make it more appealing, consider colouring it in a nice warm and bright colour like red or blue. You could repaint with your brand colours or get an artist to paint a nice picture on it. There is so much you can do with your wall decor, instead of leaving it white or a light grey – search Pinterest for some inspiration, it’s a great place to look for any interior inspo.

2. Room accessories

Having room accessories in your office is affordable and can make an instant change to how the room feels. A good example is plants. When you add plants to a room, they instantly brighten up the space and fill any large white space in the room. They come in all shapes and sizes as well as colours, to bring a warmer tone to the overall feel of your office. You could also look at buying some rugs to add another dynamic to your flooring or dress up your desks, with some memorabilia that relates to the person sitting there.

3. Work facilities

The facilities that you offer in your office can have a big impact on productivity, more than you may initially have thought. The reason is, if an employee is happy and motivated in their workplace, they are more likely to work hard and strive to improve themselves. Do you have a good selection of drinks that they can enjoy during the day – juices, tea, coffee and squash? Do you have a breakout room, in which they can relax when they are having their lunch break or need a different environment for a minute?
