LG Unveils Cutting-Edge OLED Gaming Monitors with Dual Refresh Rates

LG Unveils Cutting-Edge OLED Gaming Monitors with Dual Refresh Rates | CIO Women Magazine

In a surprising move, LG has jumped ahead of the January rush to debut its latest lineup of OLED gaming monitors. Among the newly revealed displays, the UltraGear 32GS95UE takes center stage. This 4K OLED monitor boasts a 240Hz refresh rate, but what truly sets it apart is its innovative dual refresh rate feature. With a simple click, users can seamlessly switch between a 1080p resolution at an impressive 480Hz refresh rate. This unique capability can be assigned to either a hotkey or the joystick’s directional switch, enabling users to swiftly transition between high-resolution cinematic gaming and competitive settings.

LG’s bold move places it ahead of the curve, especially when compared to other 4K OLED gaming monitors. The dual refresh rate feature not only positions the UltraGear 32GS95UE as a cinematic 4K display but also as a highly competitive screen, overshadowing even Alienware’s 500Hz gaming display. Beyond the refresh rate, the monitor flaunts OLED’s remarkable response times, with LG claiming an astonishing 0.03 milliseconds. While real-world response times may vary, OLED’s inherent speed remains superior to traditional LCD displays.

Expanding Horizons – 39GS95QE and 34GS95QE

Expanding its range, LG introduces the 39GS95QE and 34GS95QE, both featuring a 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratio. With a resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 and a 240Hz refresh rate, these displays mark LG’s first foray into the ultrawide OLED gaming monitor market. Notably, the 39GS95QE boasts a 39-inch screen, a step up from the commonly seen 34-inch ultrawide monitors. The larger size promises to deliver the same high-quality OLED imaging and elevated refresh rate, adding an extra layer of excitement to the gaming experience. Both displays feature an aggressive 800R curve and carry certifications for G-Sync Compatible, FreeSync Premium Pro, and DisplayHDR True Black 400.

Updates and Upgrades – UltraGear OLED 27 and OLED 45

LG isn’t content with just launching new models; the company also announces updates to existing favorites. The UltraGear OLED 27 and UltraGear OLED 45 receive enhancements, with the latter taking the spotlight. Available in two versions, both featuring a 240Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 3,440 x 1,440, the 45GS96QB model stands out with added speakers and USB-C connectivity. This connectivity option supports up to 65 watts of power delivery, enhancing the monitor’s versatility.

While LG refers to these models as “upgraded versions,” the specifics of these enhancements remain a mystery. Only time and hands-on experience will reveal the full extent of the improvements brought to these already impressive displays.

Pushing Boundaries in Gaming Display Technology

LG’s early unveiling of its latest OLED gaming monitors showcases the company’s commitment to pushing boundaries in gaming display technology. The dual refresh rate feature, ultrawide options, and updates to existing models underscore LG’s dedication to providing gamers with cutting-edge visuals and performance. As tech enthusiasts eagerly await CES 2024, LG has set a high standard for what to expect in the evolving landscape of gaming monitors.
