NVIDIA’S GeForce RTX 4070 rumored to cost $599

NVIDIAS GeForce RTX 4070 rumored to cost $599 | CIO Women Magazine

NVIDIA is set to release the standard GeForce RTX 4070 in mid-April, with a price tag of $599. This comes as a welcome surprise for gamers who have been put off by the high prices of the latest GeForce lineup, which can reach over $799 for the NVIDIAS GeForce RTX 4070 Ti. While the $599 price point is still a significant increase from the previous generation’s prices, the improved specifications of the RTX 4070 make it an attractive option.

Less Power Hungry

According to sources from VideoCardz, the NVIDIAS GeForce RTX 4070 will feature 5,888 CUDA cores, a narrower 192-bit memory bus, and a 1.92GHz base clock speed. These specifications are comparable to the RTX 3070 Ti, which was released in 2021 at a similar price point. However, the RTX 4070 boasts more RAM, with 12GB compared to the 3070 Ti’s 8GB, and a higher 29 teraflops of 32-bit floating-point computing power compared to 22 for the 3070 Ti. It is also expected to use less power than the 3070, making it a more efficient option.

A Significant Upgrade

While the NVIDIAS GeForce RTX 4070 does not match the specifications of the RTX 4070 Ti, which features a higher core count and clock speeds, it still provides significant gains over the previous generation. The RTX 4070’s improved specifications make it an attractive option for gamers who want to upgrade their graphics card without breaking the bank.

However, the release of the RTX 4070 continues the trend of increasing prices across the range. Every RTX 40 GPU to date has had a reference price at least $100 higher than its RTX 30 equivalent, making it difficult for gamers who want the closest-possible parallel to an earlier high-end model. While the RTX 4070’s price is more affordable than the RTX 4070 Ti, it still marks a significant increase from the previous generation’s prices.

The release of the NVIDIAS GeForce RTX 4070 will be eagerly awaited by gamers who want to upgrade their graphics card without paying the high prices of the latest GeForce lineup. However, the trend of increasing prices across the range may make it difficult for gamers who want the closest-possible parallel to an earlier high-end model.
