What Can You Do To Bring Your Team Together? 3 strategies | CIO Women Magazine

Is your team falling apart at the seams? Or, perhaps you have all never been massively close and this has been impacting the way that you operate? Either way, this has got to change. Your team should be like a family, understanding that you can all go to each other when help is needed, lean on each other, and generally support each other as a team does. If this is not what is happening right now, then you’re in the right place. We’re going to look at how you can bring your team together to form a stronger bond, so keep reading if you’re interested in learning about this.

Here are some strategies to bring your team together:

1. Encourage Teamwork

It’s a good idea to encourage teamwork as much as you can. Everyone needs to be able to work both individually and as part of a team, so it’s important that you are fostering both of these within the team. Nobody should lose sight of the fact that they were hired to do a job because of their experience and skills, and that means that they need to be able to do it. But, that should not mean that the team as a whole doesn’t connect, and doesn’t work well together.

An option you can consider is pairing up members of your team for certain projects, and then having them work with another pair to compare what they have done. Or, split a project into different sections, giving each pair one to work on, then feeding back together to create the whole.

2. Build Trust

Trust us massively important in a team, and if there isn’t any there, then it’s not going to be an effective team. Your team needs to know that they can count on those around them that they work with everyday, and that there won’t be any judgment or repercussions.

We recommend that you organize a team building day every couple of months to ensure that your team stays connected. You can look into a beautiful space available near you to hold these special days that will be filled with fun activities and trust exercises. While it’s not everyone’s favorite pastime, it’s important to do.

3. Have An Open Door Policy

As the boss, your team needs to have a strong connection with you as well. One of the ways that you can foster this is to do everything that we’ve talked about with your team, but also have an open door policy. They need to know that they can come to you when they are having problems, when they need advice, or when they are feeling a certain way at work. They need to feel as though you are there to support them, not just to shout orders at them.

Hopefully, you have found this article helpful, and now have a good idea as to what you can do to bring your team together. It’s not always going to be easy, but you need to stick with it and try to create a family out of your team for the sake of your business.
