In a recent announcement, Apple has divulged the captivating entertainment offerings set to accompany the launch of its eagerly awaited mixed-reality headset, the Apple Vision Pro. Scheduled for release on February 2, the headset promises an immersive array of experiences, with a repertoire that includes 150 3D movies, immersive films and series, a unique Travel Mode feature, and compatibility with popular streaming services such as Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video.

Users of the Vision Pro will be able to download and stream content from an extensive list of platforms, ranging from Disney+ and ESPN to Paramount+, Crunchyroll, and more. The inclusion of 3D versions of popular movies like “Avatar: The Way of Water,” “Dune,” and “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” adds an extra layer of excitement. Apple emphasizes that users owning or purchasing movies with a 3D edition will seamlessly access that version on the Vision Pro at no additional cost. Furthermore, the Apple Vision Pro will support 3D versions from various streaming apps, hinting at a promising cinematic experience for subscribers.

Apple Immersive Video and Unique Entertainment Formats

One standout feature of the Apple Vision Pro is the introduction of Apple Immersive Video, a novel entertainment format showcasing 180-degree 3D 8K recordings accompanied by Spatial Audio. Apple plans to launch the headset with a curated selection of immersive films and series, including titles like “Adventure,” which follows daring athletes tackling challenges, and “Wild Life,” offering a close encounter with unique creatures. The lineup also boasts “Prehistoric Planet Immersive” and “Alicia Keys: Rehearsal Room,” promising a diverse range of experiences for users.

Unveiling Technical Specifications and Preorder Details

The Apple Vision Pro stands out not just for its entertainment offerings but also for its cutting-edge technology. Boasting ultra-high-resolution micro-OLED displays with a combined 23 million pixels, wide color, high dynamic range, and Dolby Vision, the headset is poised to deliver a visual feast. With a battery life of two hours for general use and up to 2.5 hours for video playback, users seeking extended sessions can rely on the external battery connected via a USB-C charging cable.

Preorders for the Apple Vision Pro, priced at $3,500, are set to commence on January 19 at 5 a.m. PT.
